Public Open Space

Landscape architects and garden designers work on similar
projects , although there can be considerable blurring.
The simplistic view is that garden designers work primarily
on spaces that are private, whereas landscape
architects tend to work on places and spaces viewed
or used by the wider public. The needs and demands
on the spaces are different.

Of course this is far too simplistic, but can be a guide

Turku Botanic Gardens

This is the Botanical Gardens of the University of Turku, Finland
which is on the island of Ruissalo of western Finland. As public
gardens showcasing plants and their use they are of moderately
recent vintage, dating back to 1956
