own right. The challenge is to photograph them in our
world, to give a sense of where they are and the places
they can augment. This does not always come naturally

particularly in the 'hedgerows' surrounding grassed areas. The
open areas are used for recreation or for feeding livestock such
as chickens, a culture that continues to influence areas planted
